Ascension Quest - Help
Hey everyone,
Okay, I'm a lvl 20 warrior/monk who has completed all of the three quests that lead up to the ascension trial. I am now at the point of trying to complete the ascension trial. I went into the trial and could not even make a dent on the guy I was fighting in the arena. I then left the area and went back to Augary Rock. I was then told by the other players that I am actually fighting myself. One person recommended that I empty all of my skills on my skill bar and then fill half with the worse skills that I have and the other half with good ones. He recommended Frenzy as one of the bad ones. But I have no idea what other skills to include to help me in the trial. I figured it would be good if I asked you guys as I'm sure some, if not many, of you have already ascended in the game. Any advice you have would be very appreciated.
Thank you,
Alestian (i.e., Shaylee Radella)

Put some worthless Monk enchantments, Sword or Hammer skills (NOT AXE), and Frenzy on your skillbar. If he uses Frenzy, your damage gets doubled. If he uses the Monk enchantments, then he'll be wasting time. It's pretty easy once you understand how the battle works.

I found warrior primary to be the easiest one to defeat (though I haven't tried mesmer or necromancer). I hardly changed my build. I kept my sword attacks and Flurry of my regular build, but added Frenzy in and the only monk spell I brought was Heal Area (which I never used anyways and I don't think he did either). It's been a while since I did this, so I might be wrong in remembering, but I found the key to it was bringing Frenzy.

I managed to defeat my mirror as a w/mo with OUT changeing a single skill that I used to use in pve. It took about 3 or 4 mins but it was'nt hard. I found beating my e/me mirror harder to start with as it took me about 5 times to work out what to do but then i got him in about 20/30 seconds.

All you need to do is bring all the skills for your own weapon, and Healing Breeze to heal yourself because i heard that the mirror doesn't use that skill. And then hope that your mirror self (doppleganger, whatever) is using a different weapon than you so it doesn't use any of your skills.

Thanks! I tried a little bit of everything that all of you said. It took me four times but I finally got it. I realized that the fewer spells I had the less damage I could do to myself. Then it became how fast I could hit him in relation to how much damage he can do and how thick his armor was. So, I had to hit twice as fast to do equal amount of damage. He finally went down. Then I made the mistake of taking Glint's egg. Hehe. Now that's another story.
